About Us

Message from the President

Welcome to EIBCS!
El-Elyon Int’l Bible College & Seminary (EIBCS) is a comprehensive theological school that
offers a wide range of Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate programs. These are
designed to reflect the modern ministry ideals and are geared toward the intellectually
stimulating and engaging learning environment.
Through the training of theological students, they are able to enhance their knowledge of
God’s word and their ability to share it with others. The faculty members at EIBCS are highly
committed to making our learning community a unique place. They also bring a variety of
gifts to the table, such as their pastoral experiences and academic abilities.
The goal of EIBCS is to provide theologically and biblically educated individuals with the
necessary tools and resources to effectively carry out their ministry. Through our programs
of study, we help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your ministry. In
addition to being able to identify areas of improvement, our educational design also allows
you to think about your own ministry and make changes immediately.
After you have registered for our programs, we would like to welcome you to the EIBCS
family. We look forward to working with you as you start your educational journey with us.
Shalom!

Prof. Silas D. John, D.Sc, D.D., Ph.D
President.

Our History

The vision of El-Elyon Int’l Bible College And Seminary was established through the Heavenly vision received by Rev. Prof. Silas Danjuma John; an architect and teacher of the word of God. He is a trained theologian and an effective teacher and educational minister who is mandated to raise up well-grounded and genuine ministers of the Gospel. El-Elyon Intl Bible College & Seminary was established on April 18, 2014 with 13 students as pioneer students. It started in Karu; a border-city between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, Abuja. Initially, EIBCS only offered Diploma programs. From 2015 to 2017, the Seminary expanded its offerings by launching Master's Degree programs and Doctoral Degree programs. El-Elyon Int'l Bible College & Seminary was incorporated in Abuja, and its Governing Council approved the grant of Degrees in Theological studies. The name of the seminary was registered in 2017 with the Nigerian government. (RC:1387882). As the Seminary's academic strength and numerical growth continued, the Governing Council decided to establish a stronger relationship with Christian educational bodies and universities. Currently, EIBCS is affiliated with a Christian university in the U.S. It is also a registered member of an association that is focused on Christian religious education in Nigeria (NACREN).

DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS

THESE ARE BRIEF STATEMENTS TO WHICH ALL FACULTY AND STAFF AFFIRM.

a) Scripture: The verbal plenary inspiration and divine inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments in the original manuscripts.

b) Trinity: We believe that there is one living and true GOD; eternally existing in three persons (Father, Son & the Holy Spirit), and are equal in divine perfection.

c) Creation: We believe that in the past, God spoke and the heavens, earth and all therein came into being. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God.

d) God the Father: We believe in God the Father; the infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.

e) Person of Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ as God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and personal and visible return to the earth.

f) The Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son, to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.

g) Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God; that in grace, He bestows eternal life to all who repent.

h) Church: We believe in the universal Church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local Church; consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith.

i) The Sacraments: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local Church – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

j) The Last Things: We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth, and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in bodily resurrection of the dead; righteous to everlasting blessedness, and the wicked to everlasting damnation.

Philosophy of Education

The Philosophy of Education of EIBCS is centered on the teaching and learning of the word of God. It is an integrative model that aims to help students develop their spiritual and practical skills in the ministry. Through the provision of various learning opportunities, and most especially mentorship, we are able to help our students develop their spiritual and practical skills in the ministry. We also engage them in a manner that is consistent with the Biblical worldview.

Structure of the Seminary

The El-Elyon Int'l Bible College & Seminary (EIBCS) is a non-denominational Seminary and academic institution that aims to provide a strong theological base in its educational platforms. It does so without affiliating with any particular denomination. The goal is to appeal to a wider range of students by offering a variety of Degree programs and Biblical studies. The president of the EIBCS has delegated authority over the Seminary's affairs to the Governing Board, which consists of Christian Ministers and personalities. The Provost is the head of the Management Team that oversees the Seminary's operations. Other members of the management team include the Deputy Provost, the Registrar, Bursar, Chaplain, Auditor, and the Director of Library Services. The Management Committee meets to discuss the recommendations of the various committees of the Seminary, as well as other vital issues affecting the institution. The major decisions and complex issues are then sent to the Governing Council for approval.

Student Life

The EIBCS community is more than a place for students to focus on their academic work. It also features a variety of activities that make the experience of living on campus a memorable one. In addition to being able to study, students also have the opportunity to interact and grow together.
Numerous events and programs are held throughout the year to help students develop their life experiences. The goal of the EIBCS community is to create a culture of unity, which is evidenced by the diverse backgrounds and traditions of its members. During times of uncertainty, students can find a point of convergence within the campus. Although the Seminary does not have residence halls, students are responsible for securing their own accommodations. There are numerous rental properties within the surrounding communities, so finding a good place to live is not a problem if the student has money. The EIBCS community does not tolerate discrimination and harassment against its members based on their race, color, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability. All students are members of the student union, which is the representative body of the seminary's entire student body.
The union's purpose is to provide a forum for students to develop their leadership skills and have a good Seminary experience. The student union's main function is to promote and manage the spiritual, cultural, and social interests of students. It also provides a forum for other activities of the union. The Governing body of the student union is composed of the Student Representative Council. Each session, the union elects its officers. These include the president, the General Secretary, the Welfare Secretary, and the Financial Manager.

Alumni

The Alumni Association of EIBCS is composed of individuals who graduated from the Seminary. Its objective is to raise the profile of the institution. Through the association, alumni can help the students and develop the image of the Seminary. It also provides financial support to the development of the institution. The Alumni Association regularly updates its members about the school through newsletters, email, and College magazines and other media. It also helps former students stay informed about the Seminary.

Incorporation, Affiliation & Accreditation

The EIBCS was established in 2014 to provide Christian ministers with the necessary training and resources to carry out their duties. It was incorporated in 2017 under the corporate affairs commission of the country's Federal Government. Through its various activities, it has been able to help promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the training of priests. The EIBCS is also an active member of various Christian organizations in the country and also outside the country. It is a registered and active member of the National Association of Christian Religious Educators of Nigeria and World Christian Ministries Association, U.S.A.. The EIBCS is affiliated with two prominent Christian universities: Word-Power Bible University and Bethel Christian University, U.S.A. As an affiliate of Bethel Christian University, U.S.A., which is fully accredited by the Worldwide Commission for Theological Education, we also are bound by its policies and terms.
